On October 4, 2006 The family of Solomon Jochnowitz-Kahn
attended a small ceremony at their house where Sol was inducted into the Albany
Police Department-- rank Sergeant. Unfortunately, Sol was in the hospital on
several occasions that this ceremony was to be held. This was a closure to a sad
chapter in Sol's battle, but reminds us all of what so many people contributed
to bring some joy into Sol's life during the last few months.
If you look through these pictures you will see that the Albany Police
Department were able to capture Sol's kindness and dedication to living a moral
life in service to his community. The family has asked that these pictures be
added to the website. A big thank you to The Albany Police Department including
Officer Luis Martinez and Lieutenant Daniel Colonno and all the officers who
visited Sol when he was at home and in the hospital.
